Raleigh’s Watermelon Lady and the Triangle’s best fruit
The “Watermelon Lady” is serving up a variety of quality produce. | RALtoday
Raleighites have spoken + it sounds like some of the best watermelon in the Triangle is coming from the woman affectionately known as “The Watermelon Lady” by locals — formally, she’s known as Sanjuana Sanchez. People from all over are traveling to purchase from the Raleigh vendor due to the variety and quality of the melons she provides.
Sanjuana also has yellow + orange watermelon, pink pineapples, and other exotic fruits to purchase and enjoy. Part of what makes the Watermelon Lady so popular is that she offers patrons samples of the fruit while waiting, and the consistency of quality produce doesn’t hurt, either
Find this local fruit merchant at 2412 New Bern Ave., in Raleigh, about a mile from WakeMed Hospital. For updates of produce inventory, hours, and additional locations you can follow her on Facebook.
Pro tip: The business only take cash + cash app for payment — don’t be shy, she’s very welcoming.

Colorful margarita glasses that are shatterproof — aka, perfect for outdoor pool parties.
To know me is to know that I adore fresh produce however I can get it. That said, I’ll definitely be standing in line waiting for The Watermelon Lady — even though I don’t like watermelon, she has so many fruits to try and purchase. The batch of mangoes I bought were everything I wanted and more.
