Whenever we’re feeling saucy, we like to dig into a slice of local pizza. Raleigh’s pizza scene is bubbling with options — and we keep finding ways to top ourselves. If you’re on the quest for the perfect slice, we’ve pie-oneered a list of nearly 40 places to grab pizza in Raleigh that are definitely worth the dough.

Raleigh-style

Benchwarmer’s Bagels, 500 E. Davie St. | Thursdays through Saturdays are pizza nights at this bagel shop — savor inventive yet unpretentious specials that are different every time.
Oakwood Pizza Box, 610 N. Person St. | Our readers raved about this Oakwood pizzeria’s crust — including its gluten-free option — and variety of toppings.
Trophy Brewing & Pizza, 827 W. Morgan St. | Grab a Raleigh-brewed beer and some friends to share a signature pizza with — or a personal size to keep to yourself.

Fancier fare

Colletta, 1 Fenton Main St., Ste. 170, Cary | Our favorite pie at this Fenton restaurant is the Regina Colletta with three cheeses, arugula, prosciutto, and aged balsamic.
Giorgio Pizza Bar, 141 Park at North Hills St., Ste. 112 | This North Hills spot has unique pies named after Italian filmmakers and stars like the Fellini, Pasolini, and Ornella.
Hummingbird, 1053 E. Whitaker Mill Rd., Ste. 111 | While this restaurant is mainly New Orleans-inspired, the pizza is made Detroit-style with thick and chewy crust.

Benny Capitale’s, 121 Fayetteville St., Ste 110 | This pizza spot is right in the heart of downtown and offers massive individual slices like the Bro Cheese made with broccoli, beer cheese, and crispy onions.
The Pizza Times, 210 S. Wilmington St. | In addition to plenty of topping and sauce options, add on Peruvian grilled wings or the cheesesteak.
Vic’s Italian Restaurant, multiple locations | This family owned joint has been in Raleigh for nearly 30 years — Reader Kat W. said it’s the crust that makes these pies.
