You know what they say, “A family that trots together, stays together.” If this phrase rings true for you on Thanksgiving Day, we have seven turkey trots around the City of Oaks to give this holiday bird a run for its money.
Note: If you’re not looking to get physical, most of these races need volunteers.
Freedom Ride Rescue Turkey Day 5K | $38 through Nov. 21 | Help raise funds for this foster-based nonprofit while getting active at White Deer + Lake Benson Parks in Garner — costumes, strollers, and well-behaved pups are encouraged.
Inside-Out Sports Turkey Trot 8K | $35 through Nov. 22 | Along with the 8K, there will also be a 1 mile fun run and a kid’s dash.
This could be you crossing the finish line at the Raleigh Turkey Trot.
Raleigh Turkey Trot 8K | $35 through Nov. 17 | Trot along Ridgewood Shopping Center + Meredith College to raise money for the National MS Society.

Global pharmaceutical company Indivior has selected Raleigh (8900 Capital Blvd.) for its first US manufacturing facility. The biz intends on investing over $60 million to produce schizophrenia + opioid addiction treatments in Raleigh. Sagent Pharmaceuticals previously used this space — Indivior plans to maintain the facility’s existing workforce and will add 35 employees. (Triangle Business Journal)

Triangle-based kombucha brand Tribucha has partnered with Grammy Award-winning rock band Greta Van Fleet to create a specialty bev. The Controlled Burn kombucha has a tasty blend of cayenne, turmeric + ginger and is available at Publix.
Concert
Lauren Daigle, a contemporary Christian artist known for uplifting songs like “You Say” and “Rescue,” has added more dates to The Kaleidoscope Tour. The Grammy Award-winning singer will play at PNC Arena Feb. 23, 2024. Pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow, Nov. 7 at 12 p.m.

Now that our clocks are set back, let’s dive into a recent daylight saving time poll. High Point University asked 1,000 NC adults their thoughts and found that 67% of poll respondents would rather change to year-round daylight saving time, while 25% prefer to keep the system the same. (WRAL)

“Stranger Things” Day. Here is your reminder to visit the Museum of Durham History for its exhibit connecting “Stranger Things” and the Durhamite Duffer brothers. The exhibit relates the show to the unusual experience of teens during the COVID-19 pandemic. The museum is closed on Mondays, but you can visit the “Upside-Down” Tuesdays through Sundays.

ICYMI, Yatai Market is now open in Transfer Co. Food Hall. This global-inspired fish market, restaurant, and speakeasy is headed by M Sushi’s chef Magno Tapia. Yatai, meaning shop stand in Japanese, will boast multiple food + bev stalls to celebrate the different types of sea fare.
Nestled in the large corner space which once housed Locals Seafood, this new spot offers fresh sushi, ramen, Baja-style fishtacos, and bevs. The bar space features creative cocktails and global spirits like Japanese whiskey old fashioneds and mezcal margaritas.
City Editors Cat + Allie recently dined in for lunch and tried the ramen and spicy tuna hand roll with edamame + miso soup — everything was soy good.
