  • Taco Bamba, a fast-casual taco shop, is opening its first NC location in Raleigh’s Ridgewood Shopping Center. Headed by Chef Victor Albisu, a James Beard nominee, the new location will offer menu items like tacos with unexpected toppings (think: ramen noodles), quesadillas, and loaded fries. The City of Raleigh Police Department, Department of Equity and Inclusion, and Substance Use Advisory Commission are hosting an Unused or Expired Medicine Drop-Off event on Saturday, April 22.   • The City of Raleigh’s Building Up-Fit Grant application cycle ends on Sunday, April 23. Small business owners can apply for up to $25,000 to support property improvements.

  • The Wake County Board of Elections is looking to feature a new early voting sticker design by local students for the 2024 Primary and General Elections. Wake County middle and high school students are eligible to submit designs as individuals or as a group. Submissions can be entered now until May 31.
Concert
  • The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is bringing back Live After 5 with a four-part concert series. The first concert of this 80s- and 90s-themed series will kick off Wednesday, April 19 with a performance by The Soul Psychedelique Band on Fayetteville Street. There will be beer and food vendors available.

  • Hartwell Raleigh and Bold Batch Creamery are teaming up for an ice cream social on Saturday, April 15. Grab a scoop from 12-4 p.m. at the community space — a portion of the proceeds will benefit Equality NC.
