Raleigh’s new tennis and paddle facility Swing breaks ground
We cannot wait to swing by and try all of the different courts. | Renderings provided by Swing Racquet and Paddle
Swing Racquet + Paddle — the first complex of its kind in the world — is slated to break ground in early 2023 and open in 2024. The approx. $70 million project in Brier Creek will feature more than70tennis, pickleball, and padel courts, a restaurant led by acelebrity chef, and plenty of room for socializing.
Swing isn’t just for paddle pros (but you could run into one here). All of the courts are open to both seasoned and new players.
“We’re setting out to grow the sports that we offer and to make it really inclusive,” Swing founder and CEO Rob Autry told RALtoday.
The facility is focused on accessibility. A walking trail will run through the center of the 45-acre campus, connecting Swing to Raleigh’s greenway trail system. Read: The complex is open to the public (but you’ll still pay to play).
Let’s get into the details. Swing will have 85 places to play five different sports, including:
29 tennis courts (clay and hard)
24 pickleball courts
16 padel courts
12 ping pong tables
Four beachtennis courts
There will be three show courts for tennis, pickleball, and padel. Each one will be technology-driven, equipped for professionals, and used to host national and international tournaments.
Swing’s 45-acre campus will feature 70+ racket and paddle courts.

Swing will also offer social leagues, giving participants the chance to try all of the complex’s offered sports over an eight- to 10-week period.
“The ping pong lounge is for after the sun goes down,” Rob said. “We intend to improve the health and wellness of the community, but if you want to let your hair down and have a good time, that’s a piece of this as well.” Don’t worry, the lounge is open all day.
So, what will the food and bev scene look like? Click the link below to learn about Swing’s eateries + preview one more rendering.
