City Editor Cat here. 🎡 Sun., Oct. 23 is the last day to indulge in fried fair food, win over-sized stuffed animals, and gawk at gigantic gourds at the NC State Fair. My favorite thing about our fair is the Flower & Garden Show. Each exhibit is so detail-oriented and cleverly presented. My favorite this year? Home at Hogwarts (featured in our Instagram reel).

Why go?

  • Visit Green Lakes State Park featuring two glacial lakes + 10 miles of trails. It’s a great way to get some fresh air, speaking from experience.
