Downtown Raleigh’s Illuminate Art Walk

Beginning tomorrow, Dec. 11 and continuing through Friday, Jan. 8, downtown Raleigh storefronts will be transformed with light installations from local artists.

The Illuminate Art Walk is organized by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance in partnership with VAE Raleigh and invites residents and visitors to plan their own self-guided walking tour — complete with a cup of hot cocoa from Bittersweet, 42 & Lawrence, Sir Walter Coffee, Black & White Coffee, Escazu, Lucettegrace, A Place at the Table, Amorino, or Morning Times.

Fifteen artists have contributed to this project. Of the 18 total installations, five are permanent or longterm. Here’s a sneak peek:
