The NC Museum of History is preparing to close for two to three years for its renovation that aims to transform its physical appearance and enhance visitor experiences.

But it’s not goodbye, just ciao for now. The museum’s final weekend is filled with celebratory events and performances from the Tar Heel Troubadours music series.

  • Rissi Palmer and Miko Marks | Friday, Oct. 4 | 7–9:30 p.m. | $12-$15 | Rissi Palmer will perform her “Southern soul” music + Miko Marks will execute her country, blues, Southern rock, and gospel tunes.
  • Henhouse Prowlers | Saturday, Oct. 5 | 7–9:30 p.m. | $12-$15 | This band will share their original music spanning nearly two decades.

While the third floor of the museum closed in early June and the first + second floors will close on Monday, Oct. 7, the museum’s shop will remain open until Sunday, Dec. 29.
