Moore Square has been a scene of community gatherings since 1792, and the present is no different. The downtown space in partnership with Get2KnowRaleigh is bringing its First Friday market and movie night series back starting Friday, April 4 and will run through November.
Shop from various local vendors and grab a bite from one of the food trucks from 5 to 9 p.m. Then, secure a spot on the lawn at 7:30 p.m. for a showing of “Wall-E,” an animated film following the life of the last robot on Earth as he cleans up the planet — plus, it’s suitable for all ages. Upcoming on the Moore Square movie schedule:
- “Tangled” on May 9
- “Shrek 2" on June 6
- “Top Gun: Maverick” on July 4
- “Inside Out 2" on Aug. 1
- “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” on Sept. 12
- “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” on Oct. 3
- “The Princess Diaries” on Nov. 7

That’s not all on our radar for Moore Square. Local vibrant coffee shop Lucky Tree will open its second location on Friday, April 4 in the former Square Burger space. The new location will feature a menu with farm-to-table ingredients, a patio to enjoy freshly roasted brews, and the same classic menu items as its west Hillsborough Street location. Patrons can also count on the same charming aesthetic as Lucky Tree’s first location.
