Did you know the oldest shopping center in the southeast is in Raleigh? Since 1949, Village District has been a local destination for all things shopping and dining — and this year, it turns 75.

You’re invited to celebrate the Village’s diamond anniversary (and reminisce with us) during its free 75th Anniversary Celebration, happening on Saturday, April 20 from 3-8 p.m. Here are all of the ways to join the fun:

🛍️ Shop

It makes sense that this event highlights all things shopping. Be sure to visit some of the Village’s oldest residents, like Great Outdoor Provision Co. and Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. And don’t forget about newer additions, like The Shade Store and Coastal Urge.

In addition to the Village’s stellar lineup of stores, stop by the mini pop-up market featuring 10 local vendors.

At the celebration, enter to win Village District swag like T-shirts, Yetis, gift cards, and more.

🍻 Eat + Drink

Fuel up for the fun at one (or more) of the Villages 20+ delicious eateries — and bring your ID, because everyone with a wrist band will receive one free pour of Village 75, an exclusive anniversary brew created by Standard Beer + Food.

Top it off at the pop-up beer garden and be sure to grab one of The Roast Grill’s famous hot wieners.

🎶 Play

Pay tribute to The Underground — a Raleigh nightlife hub from 1971 to 1984 — with live music all afternoon. Bring a lawn chair to hang out and enjoy performers including Say Less the Band, Kerry Long, and Boat House Row.

Look out for other activities like a classic photo booth, caricature artist, and live painter.

Good news, parents — you don’t have to leave the little ones at home. The kid-friendly area will have a fairy hair vendor, balloon and bubble artists, face painting, and more.

Pro tip: Look out for giveaways to win Village District swag + gift cards.
