Art in Bloom at the NC Museum of Art starts today and will be flowering through Sunday, March 22. This annual event pairs the People’s Collection with floral designers from across NC to support NCMA, and this year’s theme is Written in the Stars. We got a vibrant sneak peek before the special event opens to the public.

This year’s 44 floral designs are influenced by the zodiac with seven large installations and five small installations inspired by individual signs. Newsletter Editor Allie here — I’m a proud Leo, and I loved seeing my star sign represented with a giant sparkling lion.

This Leo-inspired display was designed by florists from the Greenville, NC Trader Joe’s.

Tickets for the main event are sold out, but tickets are still available for special events, like a celestial garden dinner and a blossoming tea time. The West building is unavailable for those without Art in Bloom tickets, but the East building is still free for the public during Art in Bloom.
