Did you miss the first round of magnet school applications?

Good news: Round two of Magnet Applications opens this Monday, March 3.

During this twelve-day window, eligible families can:

Move to the right magnet

Transferring can do more than help kids get ahead academically: It can also save adults a lot of mileage.

For example, families living in Western Wake with a rising middle school student have great magnet school options nearby. A quality magnet middle school is just around the corner.

During the round two window, families can request a seat at one of these two nearby magnets: East Cary Magnet Middle or Dillard Drive Magnet Middle.

500+ national awards (and counting)

Both the East Cary Magnet Middle and Dillard Drive Magnet Middle are part of Wake County’s award-winning magnet schools, which consistently rank among the best in the US.

With an emphasis on academic excellence, and the opportunity to earn high school language credits, students in these programs grow as global scholars while preparing for the world outside the classroom.

Plus, these middle schools feed into the top-rated magnet school in the country, the Athens Drive Center for Medical Sciences and Global Health Initiatives Magnet High School.

If you think one or more of your children might be a good fit, explore all participating magnet schools and start your request on March 3.
