911, what’s your emergency? The Raleigh-Wake Emergency Communications Center is hiring call takers and telecommunicators. Duties for both positions include answering incoming emergency, non-emergency, and administrative calls.

Annual salaries for call takers start at $42,027 and telecommunicators begin at $45,245.

The duration of the training is 12 to 14 weeks and will begin on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.

Additional details

  • Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED, or one year of related experience.
  • Trainees will receive a salary while in the training academy.
  • Virtual information sessions will occur on Saturday, Oct. 12, Monday, Oct. 14, and Wednesday, Oct. 16.
  • Applications are due by Sunday, Oct. 20.
