Local brand launches new coffee on tap

Hi Raleigh, Erin here + I’m a coffee-addict. ☕ But it’s not just for the caffeine — I actually love the taste of coffee, which is why you’ll often see me indulge not only in multiple morning cuppas but also in a late afternoon latte or an after-dinner French press (Trevor thinks I’m nuts).

Carolina Cold Brew Co. | HQ Raleigh

So imagine how my curiosity piqued earlier this week when I noticed a new kind of coffee dispenser outside our office here at HQ Raleigh. In addition to our drip coffee + industrial capacity La Marzocca espresso machine, there’s a new tap from Carolina Cold Brew Co. which lets you swipe your credit card and pay $1.50 per 8-ounce cup.

The model is similar to what you see nowadays at a lot of beer and wine shops — simply pay for what you pour. After staying up late with you fine folks at our launch party last night, I was eager to give the tap a try this morning when it launched.

Produced in bulk, without individual packaging, and from certified fair trade beans, this locally-produced cold brew is basically available anytime I want (need) it and is just a few steps from my desk.

Want to give it a try? Swing by HQ to fill your cup (or growler, or whatever vessel you like) Next up: look for more kiosks at the NC State and UNC libraries + you can click here to learn more about getting a tap set up at your office or apartment building.
