Tomorrow, the Carolina Ballet will debut A Celebration of Female Choreographers, in honor of Women’s History Month — which will feature 11 total performances, running Thursday to Sunday, now through March 22 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.

The program is anchored by Lynn Taylor-Corbett’s Boléro, which first premiered during the Carolina Ballet’s 20th anniversary season in 2018. Set to Maurice Ravel’s renowned score, the performance choreography re-imagines the piece with modern composition + witty storytelling, and received rave audience reviews during its previous run.

In addition to Boléro, the presentation also includes three never-before-seen works:

🩰 Blue Jay Eyes, choreographed by Mariana Oliveira | set to Bachianas no. 3 by Heitor Villa-Lobos
🩰 Silence and Song, choreographed by Adriana Pierce | inspired by the musical of a Johann Henrik Ibsen poem
🩰 Her Song Without Words, choreographed by Jenny Palmer | an homage to Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 11

Tickets are available starting at $36 and can be purchased through the Carolina Ballet website or TicketMaster.
