In case living in a global pandemic has also made you unable to gauge time, we’re here to remind you Sunday is Father’s Day.

That’s right, it’s last-minute gift buying time. Don’t worry though, Raleigh is full of presents that dad will actually want this year. No, he doesn’t really want that pack of socks.

For the sports fanatic

Take dad out to the soccer game NC Courage is playing OL Reign Sat., June 19 at 4 p.m. in WakeMed Soccer Park. Tickets start at just $5.

To get you out of the house

If your father figure loves the outdoors, check out this list by Triangle on the Cheap of hiking spots in 12 NC state parks. Bonus: there’s great photo ops.

The Drive-In at Carraway Village in Chapel Hill (right off of I-40) is celebrating with a laser show. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the lights + music.

Where to find the perfect knick-knacks

If you’re wanting to snag some goodies for dad to open on Sunday, swing by Unlikely Professionals (a men’s general store located at 212 E Franklin St) or DECO Raleigh (a gift shop located at 207 S. Salisbury St.).

What to put in his mug

Regardless of if your dad likes his coffee black or loaded up with cream + sugar, having local coffee in his cup is a must. Give him any one of Raleigh-based Larry’s Coffee or Durham-based Counter Culture’s blends and he’ll be smiling all day long.

For his taste buds

Don’t forget to check out Raleigh’s Beer Trail to hit up our local breweries, or order some meat from The Butcher’s Market to cook up at home for dad. Win the day over by adding some locally made Oak City Hot Sauce, and you might just secure the title of favorite child.
