Trevor here, and today I was planning on writing a farewell letter to you all as I finish up my last week with RALtoday — but as I began contemplating my year in Raleigh, I decided to ditch the farewells and leave you all with a thank you letter. There are so many things to be grateful for, and I always find it better to just say thank you to the people who’ve helped impact my life, rather than say goodbye.
Thank you all for sharing + experiencing these crazy pandemic moments with me. Thank you for giving me the space to grow in my writing and highlight all the best things this incredible City of Oaks has to offer. Thank you for all of your support, kind emails, and the love you’ve shared for RALtoday in our mission to bring you the most relevant local news every weekday.
Working with 6AM City for the past ~2 years in Lakeland, FL and now Raleigh has taught me so much and helped me grow into the passionate person, writer, and editor I desired to be after college. I could not be more thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given and I could not feel more prepared to take on my next challenges in the professional world.
From learning and growing through a global pandemic together, to having readers vote yes on me dying my hair blonde + filming a fun music video, you all have helped shape my life in ways that I could have never imagined when I first stepped foot in the City of Oaks.
So instead of saying farewell to you all, I leave you with a thank you. Thank you for everything, Raleigh.
