How to grow your business (faster): A peek at PEOs
Presented by a RALtoday Partner
PEOs like ExtensisHR can help small business leaders reduce or stabilize long-term benefit costs, improve the efficiency + cost-effectiveness of their HR workflow, and consolidate vendors. | Photo provided by ExtensisHR
Running a small business can be so rewarding — but it’s not without its challenges. Growth requires hard work and business leaders can get overwhelmed if they don’t have the help they need. If you’re an RAL business owner and this sounds familiar, we’ve got a pro tip for you: outsource your HR.
A professional employer organization (PEO), like ExtensisHR, is a company that delivers cost-effective, outsourced services for:
HR
Payroll
Employee benefits
Recruiting
Risk management
Compliance
Not having to juggle daily HR tasks gives business owners + managers more time to focus on revenue generating activities while still controlling day-to-day ops or decision making.
PEOs by the numbers
According to NAPEO, small businesses that outsource their HR function to a PEO experience:
An annual ROI of 27.2%
Are 50% less likely to go out of business
Grow 8% faster
Lower employee turnover by 14%

Graffiti, a bar featuring cocktails, axe throwing, and art, is now open in downtown Cary next to Scratch Kitchen & Taproom. Stop by to try a seasonal cocktail and see colorful graffiti by local artists (like a giant Michael Scott). Oh, and don’t forget to throw an axe or two. 🪓 (Triangle Business Journal)

It’s the morning afterSelection Sunday and Duke, NC State, and UNC are headed to the 2023 NCAA basketball tournaments.
It’s no surprise that the Blue Devils will make an appearance. Out of our local contenders, both of Duke’s basketball teams made it the furthest in the ACC tournaments, with the women’s team reaching the semifinals and the men’s team taking the championship.
Here’s when to cheer on our local teams. Psst... don’t forget to wear your new favorite merch for good luck.

Editor’s pick: In case you missed it, East End Bistrot opened last week. Besides the restaurant’s aesthetic interior and delicious oysters, I can’t stop thinking about how its baguettes are made with a little help from its neighbors, East Bower Cider Co. 🥖
