City Council approved a $405,000 bid for the lot at 411 Morrison Ave. last Tuesday. Chabad Young Professionals, a spiritual nonprofit group, outbid The Society for the Preservation of Historic Oakwood. The group hopes to make the lot its permanent downtown space. RDU is seeking community input on its plan to add ~8,700 spaces to Park Economy 3. The development would extend the parking lot toward Umstead State Park. Airport officials will present their plans this evening during a public workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. (The News & Observer)
