Correction
Yesterday, we were so excited for the FIFA World Cup that we incorrectly said that three players from North Carolina FC will play in the Cup. Although we won’t see these players in this year’s tournament, we’ll be watching them next season.
Hmm... seems like we didn’t get enough caffeine yesterday. The downtown Raleigh Christmas Parade is this Saturday, Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m., not 9:30 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION
What’s Bus Rapid Transit? 🚌
Wake County’s Bus Rapid Transit plans
Bus Rapid Transit is coming to four corridors within Wake County. | Courtesy of City of Raleigh
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is coming to Raleigh to improve the speed, frequency, and reliability of public transportation in the City of Oaks and surrounding areas. Approximately 20 miles of dedicated bus lanes will be built along four key corridors in Wake County, including:
New Bern Avenue (connecting downtown Raleigh with WakeMed and New Hope Road)
Northern Corridor (connecting downtown Raleigh to Crabtree Boulevard)
The New Bern corridor will be the first BRT developed and is expected to be completed in winter 2025. Full service of all stations is expected to be available by 2030.
The BRT system will have large, custom busesandtraffic signal priority. Read: The buses can coordinate with traffic signals to receive longer green lights. Passengers can expect less frequent stops and to pay fares at stations, instead of on buses.
