City Editor Cat here. 👋 This weekend, I’m especially excited for the Dix Park Inter-Tribal Pow Wow on Sat., Oct. 8. I graduated from UNC Pembroke which is a public tribal university — during my four years, I had the privilege of learning about the Lumbee Tribe and attended on-campus Pow Wows. I can’t wait to relive the cultural experience with a day of competition, dancing, music, and vendors showcasing the legacy + culture of Indigenous communities living in NC today.

GQ named Providence thecoolest city you haven’t been to in 2015 — calling on its celebratedfood scene + high-styleDean Hotel as contributing factors. Plus, aside from the plentiful street art you’ll find around downtown,RISD Museum has six levels of art pieces to peruse.
What’s even better than the repurposed atmosphere ofMaria’s Cucina’s old Italo-American home? The Gnocchi Toscana ($28).
The Wedding Cake House was built in 1867 + recently restored by art collective The Dirt Palace. (~$70/night)

Sports
Football season is in full swing. If you’re headed to a game this fall, don’t forget to pack your game day essentials in a stadium approved bag. This clear crossbody with 8,000+ positive reviews is a must + we also love this trendy fanny pack option.*
Outdoors
Notice an uptick of any of these feathered friends in your backyard lately? Keep them safe from colliding with your windows — a cause of death for millions of birds each year — by throwing up some decals like these. We love these leaf designs too to keep things festive for fall.*
Drink
A bottle of Cabernet Franc — a peppery, spice-driven red — sounds like just the ticket for an autumn bonfire. Open a bottle with ease with this electric wine opener from Cuisinart and sip (securely)in style.*
