The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville is accepting entries for its iconic National Gingerbread House Competition now through Nov. 8. Gingerbread enthusiasts are encouraged to enter the competition and begin dreaming up dazzling designs for their confectionery creations with a chance to win cash, prizes, and, of course, bragging rights.

After going virtual in 2020, the resort is welcoming back competitors in-person in 2021. The competition’s esteemed panel of judges, including Chef Nicholas Lodge + Chef Carla Hall, will announce a winner on Nov. 22. All entries will be on display at The Omni Grove Park Inn (290 Macon Ave., Asheville) throughout the holiday season.

How to enter: Entry forms are due by Nov. 8, 2021. Digital content + description summary forms are due by Nov. 15, 2021.

History:

Not familiar with the competition? It began in 1992 with a small group of gingerbread houses built by community members as a way to celebrate the holidays. Nearly two decades later, the competition has become one of the nation’s most celebrated and competitive holiday events.🎄

When to visit:

This holiday tradition evokes a reaction of wonder, awe, and delight from the very young to the very young at heart. ✨
