A new mixed-use development located at 2200 Atlantic Ave. — between the Five Points and Mordecai neighborhoods — is slated to break ground early this year. Raleigh Iron Works is a joint endeavor between local development firm Grubb Ventures and Atlanta-based real estate company Jamestown L.P.

Phase one of the project is slated for completion in early 2022, and will feature creative office space, 220 residential units + 91,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

The development will be located across the street from Dock 1053, home to the Loading Dock, Hummingbird, Mister Pompadour, Murphy’s Naturals, Glas, Lynnwood Brewing Concern and other creative local startups.

The cost of phase one is estimated at $150 million. Architectural plans aim to integrate original + historic elements from the former Peden Steel warehouse located at the site with modern new features — including outdoor activations and space for public events and performances.

The vision for Raleigh Iron Works is to revitalize and anchor the city’s Iron Works Districtwe’ll keep you updated right here as the project progresses.
